Honeymoon

We went on a cruise to the Bahamas for our honeymoon! We ate ourselves silly and did some awesome things like: swimming with stingrays, parasailing, and taking tours of the history of the Bahamas. It was jam packed with fun and we loved every minute of it!

The engagement

I had told Dave that I was ready to get married and apparently he already knew. We went ring shopping at the Shane co and he let me pick out a few rings! He asked me what I liked about the few I picked and then said, "OK."... What do you mean ok? He said I was done... DONE? Dave told me my job was done. Now all I had to do was wait... W..A..I..T..?? I am not what we call a patient person so I would bug him ALL of the time about when I was going to get a ring and what kind I was getting. He was very very sneeky and I had NO CLUE when it was coming or what it was! This began the first of MANY suprises from him! I know it sounds dumb but I did not see the ring even coming! He proposed on the 19th of July on a hot air balloon ride. The first thing I sputtered out of my mouth was, "DON'T DROP IT!!" I guess you can say that I loved the ring!

Exceeding Expectations

The title of this blog is an understatement to say the least. I knew that I loved Dave and I knew that I wanted to be with him forever and ever. However, something in the back of my head was keeping me from enjoying our engagement. We had our life plan mapped out and I was excited for it but something was TERRIFYING me about marriage. The whole time we were engaged I felt like I was in someone elses life. Like I would wake up and be able to tell my friends about this CRAZY dream I had that I got married at only age 21! Dave exceeded ALL of my expectations of how a husband should be. I remember going from sheer terror to wondering when he was going to become a real boy instead of my prince charming... Needless to say, it never happened. I lucked out with him! He is the most sweet, caring individual I have ever met! That is one of the many reasons why my white knight has and always will EXCEED MY EXPECTATIONS.

Dating

After Dave and I had decided that we just wanted it to be me and him, we never left each others side. I swear, sometimes I feel like we didn't even pee without each other! It was so much fun while we were dating. We always had something fun going on whether it be camping, fishing, riding our new four wheeler (baby balls), movies, working out, the works. We would spend every waking second together and a few sleeping seconds together as well. It was very creepy to me that I would miss him every single minute that he wasn't with me.

FROM THE TOP!

I decided that the beginning of our lives together would be a grand place to start this blog. Let's take it FROM THE TOP! The date was February 16th... or possibly the 17th. This was the day Dave and I first officially met. We went mini golfing and he kicked my butt. I am not what we call a gracious looser and I told him that the satisfaction of him beating me better suffice him because he wasn't getting ANYTHING from me after beating me like that! Man was I wrong. We spent the rest of the night together talking about everything under the sun. We finished our night out in the hot tub at Corey's house and the rest is history! We were both hooked and in it for the long haul. (Even though I did not tell him that I was hooked). My favorite thing about Dave that night was how motivated he was with his life. He was talking about all of his goals and actually asked me what my five year plan was.
